editing track number/s

hi,
i'm not sure, if this was posted earlier.
is there a way to edit the track number of the CD
i have a few CDs which are as per he attached screen shot.
i need to make the last track as track 13, instead of track 21. when i try to edit the track number, it comes back to track no 21.
is there a way to edit the track number ?

Once ripped I go to the completed file under properties and change it under ID-tag. Then to sync the album you go to the ID-tag of each track and change each track, for example track one would be 1/13 then 2/13 then 3/13 instead of 3/21. Lastly (again in properties)under general change the top track ID info on track 21. Change it to 13. Time consuming but works.

mp3tag has a renumbering routine, but be careful, it may not work as you think it does. And after renumbering the tags, you can run their routine to regenerate the filenames, assuming you have the track numbers in the file names, as you probably should.

I was unable to do it on dBpoweramp as well. Like you I was able to change the track number but after ripping was finished it reverted back to it's original track number. I was able to successfully change the track number when ripping a CD on Jriver Media Center however.

yes, correct .. on dBpower it goes back to the original track no# of the CD.
what i generally do is make a copy of the ripped folder & edit the folder with EZ tag editer.
while ripping with Fre:ac (on the windows version, the mac version crashes like crazy !!! ) i can edit while ripping & it stays unchanged

There is an argument to keep the silent tracks so that subsequent AccurateRip/CTDB verification and semi-automatic tagging (using disc layout) is possible.

You cannot change the track number when ripping with dbPoweramp. Those are literally the actual track numbers from the disc itself and are essential for AccurateRip to verify the rip quality. These will also follow the same tracks numbers for the same Album if you compare them to online databases. Again if these track numbers are changed you will lose the option for any comparisons.

If you are intentionally making these changes anyhow, it will have to be done after the ripping stage using a tag editor. You can easily use the numbering wizard in mp3tag to update the track number for each tack in the Album, as well as the total tracks you have.

yes, i guess all the rippers that i've tried have that, except fre:ac ( i've tried Exact Audio Copy, Easy Audio Copy, CUE Ripper & of course the dBpower, on the windows & the XLD & dBpower on the mac)

i have to edit externally with either iTunes or EZ
