Unable to RIP certain Warner Bros CD's

    Hi Folks

I am currently unable to rip certain Warner Bros CD's, namely:"-

    Fourplay - Yes Please
    Euge Groove - Euge Groove
Boney James & Rick Braun - Shake it Up

*Just had another CD not able to rip, it tries but each track comes up as an "error", this time its a Blue Note Cd with "Copy Protection":-
The Incredible Jimmy Smith - Home Cookin'

The above list is likely to increase as I work my way through my collection

I am using DBPoweramp into a recent iMac via an Apple superdrive (I also use Asset and Perfect Tunes)

I load the CD and it gets spat out a couple of minutes later without any screen activity - no error codes etc

The above CDs all play ok in my CD Player

    Thanks for any help

That is the CD drive rejecting the disc, before even dBpoweramp gets a look at it.

I just purchased a new Apple SuperDrive. My old SuperDrive, my trusty workhouse, is stating to make funny noises. Its had a hard life.
Same thing is happening to me. Mostly the disc is ejected during initial read. Sometimes it will eject half way through a rip. Quite random. Have tried using it with a MacMini 2018, MacBook Pro 2019, and a MacBook Air M1. All Macs a running the latest Sonoma 14.5
I have tried speaking to Apple. They don't know why. Am still waiting for 2nd level Apple engineers response.

My old trusty SuperDrive reports as a HL-DT-ST DVDRW GX30N
The new one reports as a HL-DT-ST DVDRW GX50N

I have tried 3 different CD drives now - An Apple SuperDrive, An ASUS drive and an Amazon “Rioddas” - all will not load the Warner Bros CDs and the Blue Note one either.

A friend popped over and has ripped one of the above CD and said this:-

“FYI, "Yes, Please!" just got ripped completely and without any fuss by "Rhythmbox" on my Linux box, from the ASUS drive. I am listening to the rip right now. It sounds fine so far.

And a second rip has just finished, apparently successfully, using "abcde" on the Linux box.“

Not sure if this info helps?
