Normal with CD Ripper?

Running dbpoweramp 15.2 on 10.10.4.

External CD drive via USB

CD is not in AccurateRip DB. I get 2 tracks are with Rip Status = "Error". In the detailed log it shows that Secure rip was aborted because it had to re-rip 32,000 frames and the limit is set to 100.

Eject the CD. Reload and re-rip. All tracks are "Secure".

Is this normal? Doesn't secure mean Ripper ripped the same track twice and the results were identical? Isn't this unlikely if the CD is damaged?

32,000 frames are the entire track, it is likely that the cd drive lost its accuratestream position the first time around and everything became offset-ed.
