CD Ripper and Freedb

I know Ripper delivers sends data to Freedb but has anyone wondered as to the integrity of Freedb sometimes? After looking there this evening I see some entries there of recordings I know were never issued to CD yet they show up there. How can that be?

Vinyl needle drops , later ripped from cd-r. Freedb has all sorts of errors and weird stuff. Mostly good but ....its like Wikipedia. Crowd sourced and mostly pretty good, but any old thing might make its way into data.
