I am a paid user of the Windows version, but just downloaded the TRIAL version (R15) for MAC to check it out. I assume that I must purchase a MAC version separately? The ripping is extremely slow when Secure ripping is set (even without Ultra rip), using the same CDs which rip normally on the Windows version. There seems to be confusing information on the web site as to whether all features are available on a Trial version. Is the "FREE" version the same as "Trial" and "Reference" is the full feature, paid version? I guess my real question is whether the speed or secure ripping functionality is limited because I'm using a trial version, or, is there another configuration problem? I'm using an iMAC, 2.66Ghz Core 2 duo with 8GB. The rip speed seems normal if I turn off Secure Rips. Thanks.

Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
Speed would not be limited, perhaps you have an option enabled which slows it down? switch to burst mode to try with no options set. -
Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
I also deleted the application then downloaded again- same issue, but I'm not sure that it had deleted all the orig. configurations. Is there a way to delete everything and start again?
BTW- this is OS 10.9.5 and I'm using an external CDROM drive that works perfectly with the Windows version.Comment

Try to disable c2 pointers if enabled.Comment

Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
Hi Spoon,
It looks like the C2 error pointers were indeed the problem- I disabled them and it rips quickly in Secure mode.
Is it possible that it measured a bad value and I should try again or should I just leave it off. I want to get the most accurate rips that I can.
Thanks for this MAC version and for your help.

Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
With C2 pointers ON, it took 37 minutes (yes, 37 MINUTES) to rip a 4:24 track to AIFF with AccurateRip data in Secure mode .
With C2 pointers OFF, it took 22 seconds to rip the same track.
The only difference was toggling C2 Error Pointers For Error detection checkbox.
Thanks for the help and advice.Comment

Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
Good point- how would I determine if it does? My drive is an LG GH24NS95: http://www.lg.com/us/data-storage/lg-GH24NS95
I don't see anywhere in the specs where it states that it does or does not.
Assuming AccurateRips, does using the C2 pointers really matter for a bit-accurate rip?
Thanks for the help.Comment

Re: MAC version- Questions & Extremely Slow ripping
It does not support c2 correctly, if it did there would be no reduction in speed. If accuraterip verifies then c2 is not needed.Comment
