CD Ripper problem with ripping to FLAC

When I rip to FLAC using CD ripper each file or song is getting saved as an individual file folder within the folder for artist / album
The file folder for each song contains a blank file called 'flac' and a jpg of the album art
This occurs whether I rip to my WD NAS drive, music folder on my laptop or USB
OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
Can anyone help with this ?

you must have dynamic naming set wrong. Post your dynamic naming string here for us to evaluate.

        Think I've found it ?

        [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[track] [artist] - [title]

Has the compilation flag in the metadata been checked?

As noted, be sure you tick the Compilation tag on ripping when the artist for the album are not identical (or use a single ALBUM ARTIST, or both).

You might also try this for a more complete naming string:

            [IFCOMP]Various Artists\[album] [IFMULTI] \Disc [disc][]\[track] - [title] - [artist][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album][IFMULTI] \Disc [disc][]\[track] - [title][]
