    Number/ tracks issue.....

While the Offset/ track listing in Ripper is great for most Uses Iam wondering if theres a quicker way around this....

On Some Homemade CDS - Lets say theres 10 Tracks. But I only want tracks 3,7, and 10-to rip from it.The offset fails because there no "string" or Continuous Flow of track Numbers. Theres abreak-up with the numbers. After rip I just go into DBPA id edit tags and change i.e: 1/40, 2/40 ETC...

this is Fine-but Very Time consuming if Doing -lets say 6 Cds to 1 Folder.(with 40 tracks!)

I think this is gonna be a "no". But like you can select all and put same artwork into each track-with ID-TAGS- is there any way of doing it with track numbers after ripp....?????

Ive tried selecting all- but just puts same track no. for all tracks...

The concept and design of CDRipper is; you put an audio CD in your drive; choose your metadata from the online databases; make any necessary additions/changes to the metadata; rip the CD to a folder on your PC. Then, you put another CD in the drive and continue with this process.

Now, there are lots of features in CDRipper for non-standard ripping of tracks, however, these involve a lot of manual changes and as such, will be cumbersome and slow.

Rip the entire CDs, then open all of the ones you want in a tag editor (either dbpa ID TAG EDITOR or mp3tag) and change the track numbers, album names, disk number, folder name, file names, etc. in a manual way to be whatever you want. What you're asking about can't be automated.

thanks For Info.I Realise that dbpa Is more Biased towards Original Cds.But Its a shame you Cannot automate numbers in IDTAG quicker Than, 1/30, 2/30, 3/30 ETC... it would make like easier if I Could just put 30/30(or 1-30) SELECT all-hey presto all tracks done.

Iam doing the way Garym says but its time consuming...The good news is I dont have many Cds now that break-up in Number squence (thank-god!).

dBpa doesn't care if the CD is a original or a homemade one. The idea of dBpa is to rip the entire CD accurately. The track numbering works easy, without problems and even for CD compilations, as long as you rip the complete CDs and not only parts of a CD. From my point of view the composition of a new collection, which contains parts of CDs only, is a job for the post-processing, but not for the ripping tool.

rip all the cds you want to combine, open the files in mp3tag, make sure they are in the track order you want. Then use the "auto numbering" function, and with one mouse click you can make the tracks autonumber 1/30, 2/30, 3/30, etc.

Thanks Gary-I will have a go at that one....But ones still asks the question-why not something similar in DBPA.....Surely the clever cloggs at dbpa towers could develop that blindfolded , standing on their heads!

Because there is not enough demand for it AND you can achieve what you need to do by simply ripping all your CDs in dBpoweramp and then use MP3Tag to edit your selected tracks, as garym has already suggested.

As I said earlier, what you are attempting here, is not what CDRipper was designed for.

In MP3Tag, click F1 for the Help Contents. Then read Overview and First Steps to familiarize yourself with the program.

If you still have problems, MP3Tag has a very good forum.

agree with above. We shouldn't be cluttering the dbpa forum with mp3tag questions. mp3tag forum is at:
Mp3tag Community is a place to get support, give feedback and discuss Mp3tag.

But Should be simple. select the files in the mp3tag window, make sure they are in the order you want, then use "auto number wizard". may have to click save when done. And keep in mind that this is changing the metadata track number, NOT the file names themselves. Although you can automatically do that too.

Thanks GaryM-sorry to go a bit off topic.Just Done it and it works great- tracks even in Alphabetical order! The only thing that Concerns me is that when i saved then cleared(red tick)- when checking info in windows the numbers/meta disappeared.(Im in details-in tile options) must of done something wrong there....

Otherwise you've made my day! Thank-you (Again)

What red tick are you referring to?

red tick?? and what do you mean numbers/meta disappeared? Is the metadata there or not? Or are you saying you don't see the details in windows explorer, but the tag data is still there when you look in dbpa ID TAG or mp3tag?
