Ripped cd tracks do not match track list

All the cd's that I have ripped do not play the tracks in the correct order. The artwork shows the track listing as correct but when I play the album the actual play list is random! Any ideas?

When you ripped the track names were in the correct order? browse to the files and try to play an individual file by double click on it.

      Two obvious possibilities:

      (1) You inadvertently stripped the TRACK tags from the files.

      (2) This is an issue with player behavior and settings, not an issue with your rips. Most players are playlist-based. They don't play an "album" as such, unless you specifically select a whole album and add it to the playlist. Also, most players offer a variety of playback options, including "random." If the tags are present, most likely your player is set to random play.

(What do you mean when your say "the artwork shows the track listing as correct".....? Artwork in this context generally refers to the album cover image added to the rip.)

Thanks, it seems I have a problem opening the file for some reason. It says windows media player encountered a problem while playing the file. As you can see I'm not very IT literate.

Thank you. Not sure what I'm doing really! Don't know how I may have stripped the track tags.
I don't have any tags to alter the playlist options.
Sorry I may have confused you when I mentioned the artwork. The track order on my screen is correct as on the album cover but the songs are just playing randomly!!
Don't really know where I can go from here!!

              Hi.
Just to try and help.If your playing from WMP sometimes the tracks will go back to front. You can change back to normal play track list by clicking the number icon at top of window. Are you playing back just using WMP.? iT May You just need to correct something in WMP/random settings to default-maybe. Iam not a big fan of WMP and moved to foobar.

I was using Apple lossless but I have now started using FLAC to see what/if there is a difference!

At the moment I'm not sure! I'm ripping cd's to a remote hard drive and then playing them via a naim streamer. I can't seem to play with wimp as there is a problem with it on my laptop. I have just downloaded foobar!
