21 Day trial version installs as free version.

I have been using the free version for a while and would love to purchase the full (Reference) version so I have uninstalled the free version, used the uninstall 'clean-up' application and installed the full trial version. It seems I am not the only one to find that it runs as the free version and tells me I need the Reference version to use certain facilities. I have searched the web and tried everything I can find (several times). Can anyone, please, provide a simple, definitive solution for a Windows 7, 64bit machine? I will not be buying the Reference version until I know I can run it successfully.

It is not possible to reactivate the Reference trial once it has been used. If you buy reference then it will be activated as Reference.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I'm not actually trying to reactivate a trial version. I have been using the free (smaller) version for some time and thought I might upgrade to the Reference version.

So ... I downloaded the Reference 21 day trial with a view to buying the full Reference version if I liked it. As I said, it will not install as the Reference version. Is this because the free version has left something in the registry and the Reference trial version assumes I am trying to extend a 21 day trial by reinstalling the Reference trial version?

The worry I have is that if I pay for the Reference version, I will have the same problem when I attempt to install it and there doesn't seem to be a solution out there in 'webland'.

I guess from your reply that, in my present setup, I cannot try the Reference version before I buy it.

Again, thank you so much for a quick response.

There is no specific free version, there is only the Reference + Reference Trial, once the reference trial have been used it reverts to the free version. If you have an unregistered version of dBpoweramp on your system, then the reference trial would have been activated at some point.

Thank you again, Spoon. It's been on there so long I guessed I'd just downloaded a no-cost version from way back. Perhaps that is not the case and it was a trial version. So ... you are confident that if I purchase the Reference version, all will be well (unfair to put such a responsibility on your broad shoulders). Thanks again.
