    Couple random problems ripping

Using CD Ripper 15.1 on Windows 7.
Ripping a mess load of CDs. Mostly working fine. But occasionally two random problems happen:
    1) Ripper will say that it could not create a file. When I go look in the folder, it actually created a directory instead of a file! If I manually delete the directory, then re-rip the track, it usually works fine.
    2) After ripping a bunch of my CDs, I looked in the root folder, and see that there are many folders, one per artist, as expected, but there are also some files that are named as some of my artists, and those artists do not have folders. I.e. I ripped CDs from those artists, and ended up with individual files instead of folders. These files have no extension. I have no idea what kind of files they are. They're in the 25-50MB range, so I'm guessing it's an album, but I have no idea why, or how to prevent.
I have been ripping many albums without changing settings, so I can't figure out why sometimes things go sideways.
    3) I had one CD where when I tried to rip it the artist folder got created, but no tracks could rip (could not create file). I thought it was issue *1 above, but when I looked, there was nothing in the artist folder at all.

I am using a network attached USB drive. Should that matter? Weird that it works most of the time.

    Any help much appreciated!

This has never been reported before, not once in 15 years....strange. The 2nd time you rip, the metadata is exactly the same?

    2. Possibly relates to 1, if you rename .flac (or whatever you are ripping to), see if they play.

It is almost certainly related to the NAS, try ripping to your local HDD, rip 50 CDs and you should not see a problem.
