Counting again

Hello Garym

My problems with counting are still there. Earlier I thought it was solved, but not.

For Garym:
When I klick SET, you get the screen with the choices, which choice should I make? I choosed TRACKNUMBER, but now when I rip two albums of the same artist, seperated by 6 other interim-ripped albums, they appear on the C-disc under each other automatically. And that is not what I want. I want to save them on the C-disc in order of ripping, regardless alphabethically order. And I cannot show it better in an other way than this:


A) Ripped as album number one 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 (Album.Track)

B) Ripped as album number two 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 2.5

C) Riped as album number three 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.5


On the C Disc\My document with music, under each other:

1 from album 1 (regardless alphabet)

1 from album 2 (regardless alphabet)

1 from album 3 (regardless alphabet)


2 from album 1 (regardless alphabet)

2 from album 2 (regardless alphabet)

2 from album 3 (regardless alphabet)


3 from album 1 (regardlesss alphabet) And so on till 6000 or 8000 etc



And now the important question: Which choice should I make on the Dynamic Artis Folder-screen which appears after klicking SET?

what do you mean that you choose TRACKNUMBER under set? when you click on set next to dynamic naming, it should bring up the screen that allows you to set the dynamic naming path, then you can enter whatever you want in the box. I suggested:

[ALBUM]\[TRACK] - [TITLE] - [ARTIST]

What do you have there?

I choosed (wrongly?) Track nmbr. As far as I understand I can't choose FOR: [ALBUM]\[TRACK] - [TITLE] - [ARTIST]; there is no possibilty?

You don't "choose" the info I gave you, you simply type that info into the area (or even copy and paste into that section).

Now I understand where I have to fill in. But when I fill in these data, exact as you gave them, the announcement follows:

"Naming has te be formed using dynaamic items (such as [title] or ]track]) otherwise every track willl have the same filename''

So these data seemed impossible?

you must be entering something wrong, typo, etc. maybe it didn't like all caps. Enter or copy then paste the following EXACT info:

[album]\[track] - [title] - [artist]

Once again I need your advice.
I have five albums ripped now and again the albums are saved on the C-disc in alfabethical order, not order of rippingnumber. Could this work?:

[Track] - [Album]\[Track] - [Title] - [Artist]

It might. just try it (but note, don't use caps). But I doubt this will work, as every single album will end up having probably the same number at the beginning of album name. I'm not sure what it will do with track, as track is DIFFERENT for each track. Maybe it will use the last track number from the album. Hard to say.
Note, even though alphebetical listing, you can still open the music directory in windows explorer and click on the "date created" column and see the listing in the order ripped (or reverse order ripped if you click the "date created" column twice). You do need to turn on the view settings (upper right side of windows file explorer) in windows file explorer to "details" and then right click in the column area to then choose (tick) "date created"

But again, your desired file naming pattern is so out of the ordinary, that I don't have any good answers for you. I suspect you need to study your Fios player a bit more, as I'm sure it can handle doing random play from all tracks without the naming scheme you're attempting to use.

About the FiiO, it's a marvellous player, but (according to me all portable players) is has a problem with random-play; too often it plays the same tracks. And that is just the problem why I want to make a playingorder by myself on the C-disk. So that the FiiO just can play from 1 to 1000or 8000 and so on.

And that is just the problem why I want to make a playingorder by myself on the C-disk. So that the FiiO just can play from 1 to 1000or 8000 and so on.

I have no clue as to how to help get what you want. Sorry. my only other suggestion is to create your own PLAYLIST files (.m3u files) pointing at your tracks as you add them, then play these playlists (which will already be random based on what you added) on your player. You need to learn a bit about playlists, etc.

After a long search to follow up your advice I won't succeed. Where exactly can I find "date created"?( I am a terrible dummie , I know....)

And do I have to change to the MUSIC map instead of DOCUMENTS?

open "windows file explorer". On upper right side there is a little drop down arrow. click this and one of the options is "details". see pic

so step 1, click the little dropdown box and select details.
step 2, right click with your mouse on the column heading. Then you should see a dropdown box listing all the possibilities. Date created is one of them. Tick this.

I don't know what you mean by music map vs documents? in what program? doing what? for what purpose?

I have found the choice to change the date. Aad I will work with it.
Thanks for all the support and understanding. I feel ashamed to be a computerdummie, but I was never educated with it. And other personal circumstances prevent me from coming to a higher level, for the time being.
