Help Ripper freezes and freezes system

Was using Version 14.4 (Win 7) without problems until recently. Then, ripper started freezing (elapsed time counter still worked). When I tried to use "Cancel rip," dbPoweramp freezes (endless circle) and system freezes. Only a hard boot would get system going again. Tried everything on the forum that seemed remotely similar.

Noticed that version 15.1 was out, so I upgraded, hoping to solve the problem. This did not help. I uninstalled both versions, used a Windows restore point before the problem started, used Spoon's remove utility, and reinstalled 15.1. Still no joy. Other programs (iTunes, WMP) recognize the cd drive and iTunes will rip.

What am I doing wrong? Help, please.

No the mouse does not freeze. I am able to go to other programs, but they do not work. Using the "x" in the upper right hand corner of dbPoweramp will not shut the program down, nor will using the icon on the task bar. Windows will not shut down normally.

Does pressing CTRL + ALT + Delete bring up task manager?

Try clearing the settings:

Then reinstall and set the encoder to 'Test Conversion'

try a rip, does it complete?

1. Used Control Panel to uninstall dbPoweramp and DSP

2. Did a cold reboot.

3. No folder in "Programs" or "Programs (x86)" folders

4. Reinstalled Ver. 15.1 (did not do AccurateRip config).

5. Tried rip using Test Conversion

6. Same problem "Ripping 0%" after 5 minutes)..

Try installing R14.4 again, see if that can rip.
