    Ancient CD-ROM drives

I wanted to know if there were any other forum users out there who may have used the following mid-1990s drives for ripping audio:

    Code:
    CREATIVE BLASTER CD 4X
    CREATIVE CD-420E
    CREATIVE CD-620E
    CREATIVE CD-820E
    CREATIVE CD-1220E
    CREATIVE CD-1620E
    GOLDSTAR GCD-R542B
    GOLDSTAR GCD-R560B
    GOLDSTAR GCD-R580B
    HITACHI CDR-7730
    HITACHI CDR-7830
    HITACHI CDR-7930
    PHILIPS PCA82CD
    PHILIPS PCA82CR
    PHILIPS PCA83CR

    PHILIPS PCA123CD
    PHILIPS PCA162CD
    PHILIPS PCA163CD

    SAMSUNG SCR-630
    SAMSUNG SCR-631
    SAMSUNG SCR-830
    SAMSUNG SCR-831
    SAMSUNG SCR-1230
    SAMSUNG SCR-1231
    SONY CDU-55E
    SONY CDU-311
    SONY CDU-511
While it's true that some of these models don't rip at all (or least, very badly), I wanted to know which ones exactly do and don't. Since many of these drives are too old to have made the cut for accuraterip's database, I also wanted to know if anyone had (or may still have) working models so as to give some feedback of what these drives can and can't do - as well additional data that can't be found elsewhere online (like read offsets, if they have consistant ones and whatnot).

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Re: Ancient CD-ROM drives

The only one I know for certain (feature-wise) is this model:

    Code:
    PHILIPS PCA362CD

    Accurate stream: Yes
    Caching: No
    C2 Error checking: No
    Overreading: No
    Read sample offset: +686
