? Force to rip tracks one-by-one?

I just purchased CD ripper and am wondering how to settings to rip/encode tracks to FLAC one by one.

Simple reason: If I set all tracks from a CD (e.g. 14 tracks) and hit go, the default is for the software to use multiple CPU's.
With the result that the CD unit 'chatters' (rather than spinning smoothly as it does for a single track rip).
Apart from the annoying noise, I wonder how good this is for the mechanical longevity of the CD unit in my PC.

Check that you do not have Windows Media Player in the background, or iTunes ripping.

dBpoweramp even though using multi-cpus, it will only rip 1 track at once from the drive.
