Front Album Cover - Back Album Cover

I´m not able to add more than one type of cover. I'm trying to have one Front Album Cover and one Back Album Cover per ripped album. I'm running dbpoweramp 64-bit ref rel 15 on XP aswell as windows 7. I. The Cd ripper is only saving one of the covers. How to act?

Thanks for fast answer!

1. From the very start: I insert a CD, "Album art 1 of 1 < > - +" gets the Front Album Cover by itself from internet.

1.1. Then I Click (left) mouse button on "+" sign, Current art description > Front Album Cover, checked!

1.2. Trying to add Back Album Cover,
1.2.1. Clicking (left) mouse button on "+" sign,
1.2.2. Click "Choose (from internet)" , CD ripper get Album arts from internet, I click one.
1.2.3. The picture shows up under "Album art 1 of 1 < > - +" It is still one of one, Then changing this art to Back Album Cover. By clicking (left) mouse button on "+"; sign, Current art description > Back Album Cover, checked! (Even controlled by double clicking the art)
1.2.4. Then I start to rip. During rip the "Album art 1 of 1 < > - +" is still one of one and I do only see the Back Album Cover. The CD ejects as I have chosen when rip session is done.

2. In Explorer in Windows, the Back Album cover is there, but not the front.

3. In Options, Meta Data the filename is Folder.jpg . Then I do only get the Back Album Cover. If I change this to filename.jpg then every file/song gets its own unique but the one selected previous art as Back Album Cover

From internet clears all the art. You would have to save the back cover art to a jpg, once the front is added then click '+' load from file.

That explain why my way off adding didn't work. The proposed way works.

But it would be easier, seen from my point of view, to use your internet "engine" to add more pictures to the unique current artist library directly. Please add my way to insert cover on wish list.

Yet CD ripper works great in all other aspects for me. Thanks for the replies.

I also ran into this problem, after just purchasing the software.

The CD ripper is definitely pretty easy to use, but this particular thing doesn't seem very intuitive or consistent.

How do you save the art cover gotten from the internet to a jpg?

Find the internet file you want and save this file to your desktop (or somewhere) as a jpg file. Then, in CD Ripper, select the "+" option above the album art (lower right) and choose "load from file". Then browse to where you previously saved the jpg file.

I am not able to save an Album Art as a jpg file. How do you suggest I should save a cover from the meta data page. The meta data page seems only to give me the option af linking the selected page, not storing as a picture as proposed.

I'm not following you. Where is the album art file located? On the web. If so, please provide a link to the web location here and I'll try to clarify. EDIT: But you mention metadata page. What metadata page. The dbpa ripper page? From here it can automatically get art from internet (or from a local file) and include it with your album. Anyhow, please describe exactly the steps you are taking as it is not clear to me.

IMHO, from a User Experience perspective, it does not make sense that "Album Art" -> "+" -> "Choose (from Internet)" would clear all art. Why would this behavior be different then when I choose from file?

I'm pretty sure what PalleLouw means is that when you use "Album Art" -> "+" -> "Choose (from Internet)", you get presented a lot of different options (different images to be used for the artwork). However, there's no way to tell where on the internet these files are located. Or to save those files to disc.

So my understand of what you are saying is that we have to hunt down the album art on the internet somewhere ourselves, save the images to file and then load these files using "Album Art" -> "+" -> "Choose (from File)".

Again, this does not make a lot of sense from a usability perspective, but I guess it's a limitation of the product as it currently stands.

Yeah, exactly.

Simple example: what I'm trying to do is add both the front and back cover. I start up dBpoweramp and insert the CD. Immediately the correct cover art for the front cover shows up in the bottom right. Title says "Album Art 1 of 1".

Then I want to add the back cover, so I use "Album Art" -> "+" -> "Choose (from Internet)". It brings up a window with a bunch of images, and I click on the one that looks like the back cover. The window closes, and now the back cover shows in the bottom right and the title says "Album Art 1 of 1".

I would expect it to be "Album Art 2 of 2". So the front cover is gone.

I've tried many different iterations, but as Spoon said above, it's pretty clear that when you use the "Choose (from Internet)", all previous images are removed.

Now if you follow the same process, but use "Choose (from File)", then it works as expected (or at least, how I would expect it to work).

I was hoping there was at least a way to save the cover art that was found by "Choose (from Internet)" to a file on disk, because then we can use the "Choose (from File)" option, even though through a round-about way...

Anyways, again IMHO, it looks like this feature is broken and the only way to get more than 1 Album Art image is to have the images saved to disk somewhere.

(to be clear; I'm not trying to be overly critical of dBpoweramp, it's a great tool!)

Choose from internet was never designed to add back covers, because they are very rare on the internet. If the old art was kept, then this forum would soon fill up with support requests asking why the old art is still there.
