disc drive not in accuraterip ?

Just got me a shiny new Dell 'puter with the following DVD/CD drive
    HL-DT-ST DVD +RW GHB0N
How do I find out if this drive is in accuraterip or if there's another problem ? - the software won't configure for the offset value. I've tried multiple discs so am assuming its a drive issue ?
Had no probs with my previous dell running XP, although it was getting so slow I upgraded and windows 8.1 was the pre-installed op system - or is there an issue with 8.1 ?

Lots of questions I know !

Hope someone can help me out !

Lists the drives, if it is not in then you need 3 matching discs.

Hi spoon - thanks for a quick response.

Sorry to be thick but when you say 3 matching discs do you mean 3 discs that already exist in accuraterip or 3 identical discs.
I've tried loads of discs now including those that I ripped successfully on my old pc.
I get about 2-3 seconds of disc "shuffling" sound before it gives up.

      Thanks

3 discs which give the same matching offset, if a disc cannot be used it is because it has multiple pressings in the database, so newer releases are likely to only have 1 pressing. Once you configure and submit your results, others will be able to use your calculated offset.

Thanks spoon. Finally got 3 discs that accurate rip was happy with. Talk about a random process though, there has surely got to be neater way of doing this.

Whatever though I'm up and running again !

          Cheers

It is only for drives which are not listed, if you had a listed drive it would configure with any CD it recognizes.
