How to add track number to the song title tag....

    Hi

Is it possible to add the track number to the song title tag. Preferable, the number would be padded with a 0 and followed by a full stop.

So the result would be from:

    Run to the Hills

    to

    06. Run to the Hills

One other thing, I would like this to be done for one encoder but not the other (in a multi encoder set up)....

Sorry if I missed an obvious way to do this. I did try the help file and tried experimenting a bit with the ID Tag Processing, but no joy....

    Cheers

Use the ID Tag Processing DSP>Manipulation Tab>Rule Based manipulation

    Try adding the following:

    IF Track=[anyvalue]
    SET Title=[Track]. [Title]

Also, in CDRipper options>Meta Data & ID Tag, make sure the Pad track number to 2 digits (ie 02) is selected.

Genius! Don't think I would have ever worked that out for myself. So, thank you very much.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like the way my iPod Classic does not display track numbers (both in the "Now Playing" window, and when listing tracks in an album. This is a nifty way to get that sorted.

      Cheers

As a quick OT aside..... Is there a way to set a default Rating for all albums being ripped?

This is very neat, however, I need to do the same not for the title but for the name for proper sorting of music on my AK100. I tried to edit what mville suggested from:

          IF Track=[anyvalue]
          SET Title=[Track]. [Title]

          to:

          IF Track=[anyvalue]
          SET Name=[Track]. [Name]

but it didn't work. Any thoughts?

Name is not a tag value I recognise, it is written by other programs? Which tagging format is used?

I had a similar issue where I'd changed the name of the "mood" tag in mp3tag to "format" so I could input different values for CD or Hi-Res files. If you have renamed a tag e.g. from "Title" to "Name" you need to use the original tag and not the renamed one in the retagging rule.

In Windows Explorer, the "Name" field is always the first column. That is what I need to change adding 01, 02, 03, etc. in front of the filename. As I poked around, I came across the field "Filename" and tried plugging that in instead of "Name" in the Rule Based manipulation, but that didn't work either.

Filename is something different to ID Tags, you would need Arrange Audio (from the utility section of Codec Central).

                  Set its arrangement to:

                  [origpath]\[track]. [origfilename]

It looks like you have your folder properties set for music content in Windows Explorer. The files are shown in filename order with track no. etc. details there also. To specify the filename you use the profile box in the bottom left corner of dbpoweramp cdripper i.e. the "Naming" dialog box underneath "Path" and use [track]. [title].

Thanks Spoon. My first time under the hood here. I downloaded Arrange Audio R4. After downloading, it took me here: Click image for larger version

Not really sure how to proceed. Is there a step by step guide you can point me to?

                      Thanks.

Sorry for the need for the step by steps. I selected a file, right clicked on it, executed the convert to, and came up with the standard conversion window. Where do I select the encoder as Arrange Audio?

'Converting To' at the top, Arrange Audio should be listed.

I was off-line for a few days, but wanted to say thanks!!! as that worked like a charm. So now I may need to modify it further as I'm still having album sort problems on my AK100. How would I change the arrangement from [origpath]\[track]. [origfilename] that you recommended earlier to one that gives me disc number, dash, track number, for example:
                              1-01 Song1
                              1-02 Song2
                              1-03 Song3
                              .....
                              2-01 Song1
                              2-02 Song2
                              2-03 Song3

Further, where can I find more info on this codec so I can try to understand it for further manipulation?

                              Thanks!
