Rip as one flac + cue sheet

My organization is as follow : one flac file per cd + one cuesheet describing the flac (+ one jpg).
My concern is to ensure that there is no alteration to the gaps between tracks specially for classical cds along with avoiding excessive number of files (currently more than 6000 titles)
I'm currently using EAC with Action - Copy Image & Create CUE Sheet.
This works well but sometimes I need to split the cd in 2 or 3 parts for instance when 2 symphonies reside on the same disk still preserving continuity inside each work.
This is not possible with EAC, only way is to rip track by track and joining them later, which is not what I'm aiming at.
I hoped dBpoweramp could do the job but I havn't found yet any practical solution.
Any one?

It would not be possible to split the CD and rip as a single file.

Gaps are never altered by rippers when ripping single files, they are always included post-pended (unless you specifically exclude them).

Do you mean that if I rip a Cd track by track and rebuild it with, let's say, ShnTools, I'll get exactly the same file as the one I would get with EAC rip as one?
I'm not sure of this.
I don't understand either why no program seems to be able to rip a cd as one wav, create suitable cuesheet, split the wav in two parts according the cuesheet and produce two flacs and two cuesheets correctly timed.
I can do this by hand but would like to find a program which do it for me. Is that impossible?

The reason why there exists no software - cuesheets are not that popular, because playback compatibility is not great.

If you join together files ripped separately into one big file, then that file is 100% identical to a single ripped file.

Not that popular... Foobar, XBMC, Clementine, Amarok, all those do good job with it and probably many others.
Who wants to deal with 60 - 70000 tracks if you can have just 6000 flac files and the same amount of cuesheets?

Check Xrecode http://xrecode.com It's FREE and I think it will do just as you propose.

I stopped using dbpoweramp for ripping m CDs because the cue sheet functionality was removed. It would have been nice at the time to know that it was the lowest priority.

Anyways, cue sheets are great, you rip the disc once and there's software out there to reconvert the entire collection into the appropriate files. What's more, you can also break out subtracks which doesn't usually work very well with modern CD players.

As for the OP, the correct solution to that is to create a second cue sheet for the individual symphanies. Cue sheets themselves are more or less just a type of play list. You can have a cue sheet that just reads from one file, or one that has an individual file per track. I wouldn't recommend trying to put 1/3 of a CD into one file and the rest into different files as that makes things kind of hard to create cue sheets for.

I'm glad to see that it was added back, but it was gone for a very long period of time.Back when you did that overhaul of the engine, I remember at the time that it was supposed to have been back for version 11, but I gave up waiting for it because it wasn't a priority. Nice to see that it's returned. I'll have to think about buying an upgrade copy as that was the main reason I hadn't bothered to upgrade.

I only came back because I was curious as to whether that feature was ever returned.
