choosing the level of compression in rip station

As a beginner in ripping... my guess is that no compression is the best compression in converting CD audio to digital file...??? If I go to compressing an album, the lesser amount of compression is found on Level 1 or level 8???

    Using FLAC?

Level 1 is the least compressed. Note that all modes decode exactly the same, as FLAC is lossess, the only difference is the amount of effort the CPU uses to decode.
