No CD Drive Found in version 12.4

I bought dbpoweramp 12.4 some years ago and have never had a problem. However I recently installed it on a Toshiba lap-top. The CD Ripper indicates "No CD Drive Found". The CD Drive itself works perfectly normally in all other respects. No other programmes have a problem recognizing it. I have done all the usual things such as uninstalling the programme and reinstalling a fresh download of dbpoweramp 12.4. I have also run all the usual maintenance tasks. There is no other problem with the computer so I can only conclude the error is down to the dbpoweramp programme. Is my version to old to work with lap-tops?

There have been minor changes to how we detect CD Drives over the years, to see if this solves your issue.

Thanks. I installed the R-15 Beta version. The CD Drive is now recognized. However, I cannot see, on the registration page, how to register it so that I can use it up to April 2014 rather than for 21 days Unregistered Trial. Please excuse my technical incompetence.

If you have Reference R12.4, save the files:

Powerpack.bin
reference.bin

(from program files (x86)\illustrate\dbpoweramp)

Then install R15 and copy these files to:

program files\dbpoweramp

It will stay registered until the beta ends.

Thanks for your reply. I have no dbpoweramp programme files in program files (x86/illustrate/dbpoweramp. They are all in program files. So I will have to pass on extending the validity of R15 Beta. I assume that my CD Disc Drive would work with R14. So I will probably upgrade to that.

Yes R14 should be the same as R15 in this regard.
