I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and Asset UPnP will not run for me.

It stays in status "Not Running" whether I try "Local Account" or "Service".

Yes, running Avast.... but I was running it on Win 8. Is there something I need to do or a problem with that?

Try disable it then try running Asset.
