    composer for lyrics

Is there any tag for Lyrics? Almost all of Indian movies have single music director and different singers and writers for lyrics for tracks in CD.

I am using the global tag albumartist for music direcor and for each track
    title
    Artist: singler1, singer2
Composer: whoever writes Lyrics (mostly each track has differnt lyrics writer)

I am looking for lyrics tag. Otherwise, I will follow this approach. I need to rip 75 more movies and I want to avoid redo.

First, you never have to redo your rips just to add or fix tags. Tag editing can always be done in "post-production."

If you're asking whether LYRICS is a commonly-found tag in the online databases, the answer is no. For pop music, the COMPOSER tag is often rather unreliable anyway, and you seldom see distinctions made for music and lyric contributions.

So...if you're hoping to have this data (as something distinct from the COMPOSER tag) automatically added when you rip, that's not gonna happen. But, if you simply want to add an additional tag and call it "LYRICS" (or whatever), you can do that, and you can fill it with whatever you information you want. (Keeping in mind that the availability of that data in playback will depend upon your player and what its metadata display options are. Custom tags will not be normally displayed....best case scenario would be that it's displayable with some sort of "Info" button, but don't count on it.)

It's not clear to me whether you just want to call the COMPOSER tag LYRIC instead, or whether you want to add additional information that is different from what's in the COMPOSER tag. IF you could clarify, it'd be easier to specify the best way to accomplish the task.

Thanks for detailed reply. Good to know that I don't need to rip again to modify meta data.

For Indian movie songs, there is single music directory, but it could have different writers for each song. It is important to get information about the writer. Right now, I am doing following

Album Artist(Global) : Music Director name
Composer(Individual tracks): Who wrote the song (Lyricist)
I guess I can continue using this approach if there is no tag for Lyricist.

      Thanks for quick reply.
