song title, artist meta information is seen from windwos media player

I have audio cds from Indian movies. I am able to see title , artist information from windows media player but not from dbpoweramp. Is there anything I can do in dbpoweramp to populate the meta data so that I don't need to enter my self. It is pain to type text in English from Telugu.

    I also have these questions.

    1. Is there anyway to find the size of audio cd and size of each song and bit rate etc? I don't mind using any other software. I tried to find using imgburn, but it says size of disk 698mb and free space is 198mb. I want to get an idea of original size of each song etc.

    2. When I put Indian cd, how does dbpoweramp gets meta data? Does it use based on size of song? Not sure if it is acurate rip or what does it means?

    3. I have 18 songs out of which 12 songs from one movie and 6 from other movie. Is it possible to select first 12 songs and get meta data and do same for second movie?
Right now it shows album as second movie name. I am thinking it is better idea to rip two times with global meta data like year, album artist relevant to each and also select different album art.

    Thanks for your help.

open windows explorer and browse to the folder with your files. Set windows explorer (right side panel) display options to "detail". On the column headings that show up, right click and you see the option to select certain columns to show. You may need to select "more" to see more options. Select the SIZE and BITRATE columns, among others, to show what you are interested in.

Thanks for the tip. Previously, I selected cdrom drive on the right side. Then, I chose properties to show size. However, when I click on it, it took me to power dvd.

Now I selected the drive on the left side of windows explorer panes. I already have "details" view. I see size for each one as 1KB only and I added column for bitrate. It does not show anything.

However, when I move the cursor to each title, dbpoweramp is showing the following info

      type as cda
      size around 40mb
      sample rate 44.1khz
      sample size16bit
      bit rate: 1411kbps cd

Atleast this is good. Don't know why size for each one shows as 1kb by winows explorer. It is not convenient to put the cursor at each title and wait for popup

It seems as if you're trying to look at the size on the CD DISK itself as you're reading it. That's not what you want to look at. You want to look at the digital files AFTER you've ripped them to your computer to see what I explained above.

Thanks for quick reply. I am trying to find original size of each track(I guess it is wave file) before ripping. One of the cd has 1 hour 12 minutes audio with two movies. I am trying to see if I did not get good quality audio. If so, I will buy only cds with songs from just one movie.

I don't think looking at size or "bitrate" of the songs that are on a regular CD disk itself will answer any questions about the quality of the audio. Even very bad audio (low bitrate mp3) would show the same size on a CD. You can test this for yourself. Take a CD and rip it to mp3 (lame) at -V9 (very low bit rate). Then convert this low bitrate mp3 to a WAV file. It will the same size (bit rate and file size) as if you had the original CD rip direct to WAV file.
