There is one track on a CD I have that stalls dBpoweramp at 0% encoding. I tried flac and apple lossless encoding with the same result. This is not a CD I particularly care about but I've never had a problem like this before. What might cause this?

Re: Won't encode a specific track

Try ripping to Test Conversion, this will tell if is the encoder (or HDD), or reading that is a problem.

Re: Won't encode a specific track

Same result. Only difference is that progress showed 0% while ripping, then stuck at 0% encoding. I don't really care if I can rip this or not, it's more of a curiosity why it won't work. There are 4 tracks and the first 3 rip OK.Comment

Re: Won't encode a specific track

I think it CD drive related, if you were to try in a different CD drive I have a feeling it would rip without problem.Comment

Re: Won't encode a specific track

Same thing happened to me. I was not getting accurate rips using an older external CD/DVD burner but was having hardly any problems with my newer laptop internal burner. To make sure, I purchased a new external usb powered CD/DVD burner and everything rips fine with this one too. So in my case, it was definitely drive related.
