Strange Behaviour When Ripping

Tried to rip a CD and about half the titles would always return inaccurate and rescans. However I decided to try to rip one track at a time and voila -- all were found in AR and no errors. What's this all about?

It's probably an issue with the specific drive.

Once I had an issue where the only way to get accurate rips was to rip each track individually... in reverse order.
