Configuring Secure CD Ripper / problems ripping discs

Hi there I'm quite new to ripping CD's but my rip settings on the secure ripper is set to Burst mode and I can't change it to secure mode. Can someone explain why I can't do this please?

Also can anyone recommend an external CD ripping device please?

The CD/DVD Drive is playing up and my external Drive has also been causing problems with ripping discs too. The latter drive has 'chewed' up a couple of discs already so I'll ditch that one now.

The CD /DVD Drive in my PC is making loads of mistakes and is so slow.

My PC is an e-Machines E-3010/Running Win XP-SP2 / Netgear ReadyNas Duo

    Thanks In Advance..

The registered version of dBpoweramp is required for secure ripping.

If going for external drives, I would go for 2 cheap 5.25" SATA drives and connect them with eSATA.

Re: Configuring Secure CD Ripper / problems ripping discs

Hi there, a question on secure settings.
I have installed the app on both desktop and notebook. But somehow the secure setting for notebook is set to 2 pass ripping plus ultra-secure, whereas the desktop will just do one pass and ultra with the 2-pass grey out. How do I un-set the 2 pass on the notebook please?
      Thanks!

If you cannot change the option then it is likely not being used?

For ultra secure you need the Reference version, if you have the power pack then the option will be disabled.

          Thanks.
I have the family pack and configuration file shows Registered Reference in both PC and notebook.
Ultra runs every time when CD is not in accuraterip. The problem is notebook does a pass 2 as well before ultra and that is taking too much time for me. The DVD/CD drive is quite slow anyway and does 4 to 5x speed only.

Anyway to disable the pass 2 please?

Secure ripping will always do a 2nd pass if the disc is not in AccurateRip, if you have you have yet to configure the drive for accuraterip, do so. If you insert a popular disc it should say at the bottom of the track listing 'Present in AccurateRip'' (or similar).

                Ok thks.
So are you saying secure ripping with 2 passes before ultra is the correct setting?
In that case how do I turn on pass 2 on my desktop which has the second pass greyed out?

PS. I emailed you the screen shots.

The screenshot looked normal the 2nd pass has nothing to do with the ultra settings, it is always enabled.
