Rip multi-channel discs to 2 channels

I have several 5.1 channel discs. Is there a way to rip them to 2-channel?

What type of CD is it? 5.1 is only on DVD audio as far as I know, or a DTS encoded CD.

I have some dts 5.1 discs. I'd like to convert them so I can also listen to them in my vehicle. The ripping software recognizes them and downloads the song titles and artwork. I've tried to rip one but just get static when it's done.

That's because a DTS disc really is this noise - it has its own compression, it is kinda like a ".txt" file which is really a .zip and therefore looks like nonsense if you try to open it in Notepad.

So what you do, is rip it as normal (FLAC or whatever) and then use a DTS decoder. I use the foobar2000 media player, and kode54's DTS input from here: http://kode54.foobar2000.org/
