    Best alternative for Mac!

I am a long time user of dbpoweramp and depend on it regularly for ripping cd's and converting files. I am an itunes user for syncing audio to my apple tv and ipods so having access to alac as well as mp3 is important.

I am considering switching to an iMac for my next computer (my current windows 7 pc is 3.5 years old and there is no way i am going to use windows 8).

Is there a good Mac program that can give me solid secure cd rips and file conversions? If not, is dual booting an iMac with windows a viable solution? Would dbpoweramp function well ripping from an extenal drive?

Thanks for any help and advice.

You can install parallels on the mac and windows 7, no need to dual boot.

You can always revert any new PC you get to Windows 7.
