What new CD drive should I buy?

    Hello to all.
I'm new here and want to buy a brand new CD drive to rerip my yet-little CD collection.
The machine that I use is an Avell notebook but I don't trust it's drive too much. I'm thinking about buy a desktop drive and use it in external mode (just like an internal HD been used like an external HD) or, if it cannot be done, na external drive.
After this introduction and explanation I make some questions:
    - Is possible to adapt an internal drive as an external drive? What do I need?
    - Is there any difference by ripping a CD with a CD/DVD or CD/DVD/BD drive and rip the same CD with a CD-only drive?
    - I saw in that topic with the accuracy list of drives that the majority is "old"/non manufactured anymore. However I want to buy a NEW drive. What products and brands do you recomend me? The new Plextors still as good as I read about?
For while I think that it's all.

Thanks to everybody. And sorry about any mistake, my english is not so good, neither my computing knowledge. :(

I forgot to tell but I'm planning to pay till $ 50.
And my priority is with accuracy. Speed is good, too, but I do prefer a medium/slow ripping with high accuracy over a fast ripping with medium/poor accuracy.

I know it is possibly to late in replying but a company called icybox { west german} do an external enclosure for optical drives/HDDs. It has USB 3 + eSATA outputs and has an external power supply. Model number IB-550StU3S. looks good with its blue LEDs. Just bought one and a plextor drive as a second unit for ripping cds that wont rip on my other drive. Hope you find this usefull.

The Plextor drive is very good, however I have consistently had problems ripping ANY cd's produced by 'Warner'. My guess it is something in the encoding on the cd. I have no problem ripping a Warner cd on my plain dvd drive.
        Hope that helps
