    Only 240 Kbps on Mp3??

    Hey all,

it seems that settings for Mp3 only allow me to go up to 240kbps. I see 320kbps all the time from other folks. Why can't I go this high in DbPoweramp??

    Thx, Barry

The VBR is an average of 240kbps, you can select CBR and choose a static 320kbps, but the VBR of 240kbps might give a higher quality in lame (there is a bit reservoir which can grow between mp3 frames allocating better quality, also I think 320kbps in lame has a 16KHz cut off, whereas VBR does not (if you can hear that high))

Thx Spoon. Ok.. so I'll stick with the 240 VBR. I just want the best sound so overall I'm archiving to FLAC level 5 and making portable Mp3's. You think this is best?
