Similar Track names on same CD

    Hi all!

Although I have been using dB Ripper for awhile, I am now beginning to do the big push and re-rip my whole library for the long term. I have a lot of live music that has title repeats on the same CD. When I rip them, the earlier tracks are overwritten by the latest track. Ideas on how to automate things so it doesn't happen?

I have been ripping CDs for a LONG time, but am not the most savy computer guy, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

If you use the default naming, track number is written to the file name stopping this.

You use track number as part of the file name. (Before title, so that Windows Explorer sorts correctly by track number.)
Also, you could consider using the CDDB ID in folder name, in case you have two Iron Maiden Live in Tokyo bootlegs. (If you have different masterings of the same album, with approximately same track boundaries, then that is not even sufficient, so rip to one folder and then move and let Windows warn you against overwritings.)

Here is my naming scheme, for albums that are not various artists (I don't trust IFCOMP, because the metadata isn't always reliable -- compilations I rip in a separate pile).

      [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][] {[year]} ~ [album][IFMULTI] §[disc][] ~ [cddb_id]\[IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][] {[year]} ~ [album] [IFMULTI] §[disc] []~ [track] ~ [title]
