DSP 16bit, right or wrong?

Hi all,

I've noticed that my early rips didn't have DSP Effects / Actions: -dspeffect1="Bit Depth=-depth={qt}16{qt}"
written in the log file yet they do today. Seems I've added it at sometime possibly.

I noticed this is in no guide so I'm unsure how it came about and I'm a touch concerned as I have ripped many albums in this manner.

My question is, has this affect adversely my CD (only CD's) rips or is this good for bit perfect CD ripping?

There is no need to have this DSP effect, as CDs are already 16 bit. Having the effect should do nothing.

Thanks for your answer. I was concerned that the 500+ cd's i've ripped was all in vain and needed to be redone. I have removed the dsp since.

Another quich question spoon. I use a Benq dw240s dvd-rw. I don't see this unit feature at all in the accuracy list (good or bad) but do get the odd CD's that seem all to be 50 or 100 out for all tracks. It's not often. Is it worth replacing this unit?

50 or 100 are confidence levels, you only need a confidence of 1 or more to be sure of a error free rip.
