Hi,
I've looked but can't find the answer to this question anywhere on the forum (maybe I've missed it - if so maybe it should become a FAQ question?).
Once a cd is ripped the extraction log appears and if you have it set a .txt file is created.
I've just re-ripped a cd that I first did a couple of years ago. Extracts of the logs are below. The rips were carried out on different machines with different dBpoweramp versions on them.
------
dBpoweramp Release 13.3 Digital Audio Extraction Log from 21 September 2010 10:45 PM
Track 3: Ripped LBA 47035 to 73742 (5:56) in 1:08. Filename: G:\Temp Files\FLAC\Guns N' Roses\2004 - Greatest Hits\03 - Patience.flac
AccurateRip: Inaccurate (confidence 200) Secure (Warning) [Pass 1 & 2, Re-Rip 7 Frames]
CRC32: A6858BB2 AccurateRip CRC: E48FB1C4 [DiscID: 014-002980c4-01b9bd0b-c912940e-3]
Re-rip Frame: 55030 (00:01:46.600) matched 10 / 19
Re-rip Frame: 55068 (00:01:47.106) matched 10 / 11
Re-rip Frame: 55106 (00:01:47.613) matched 10 / 12
Re-rip Frame: 55118 (00:01:47.773) matched 10 / 11
Re-rip Frame: 55143 (00:01:48.106) matched 10 / 12
Re-rip Frame: 55156 (00:01:48.280) matched 10 / 11

dBpoweramp Release 14.2 Digital Audio Extraction Log from 05 December 2012 08:23 PM
Track 3: Ripped LBA 47035 to 73742 (5:56) in 0:37. Filename: D:\Music\TEMP\Guns N' Roses\2004 03 23 - Greatest Hits\03 - Patience.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 22) [Pass 1 & 2, Re-Rip 2 Frames]
CRC32: CABEB060 AccurateRip CRC: BE77F5DA (CRCv2) [DiscID: 014-002980c4-01b9bd0b-c912940e-3]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 22 [CRCv2 be77f5da]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 157 [CRCv1 98c6fb3e]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 103 [CRCv2 153173d4], Using Pressing Offset +664
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 200 [CRCv1 2a0b2c16], Using Pressing Offset +664
-------------
My questions are these:
1) The first rip says 'AccurateRip CRC: E48FB1C4' whilst the second one says 'AccurateRip CRC: BE77F5DA (CRCv2)'. I assume these are different due to a change in the CRC calc. (hence v2), but if that is the case I would have assumed that the CRCv1 value listed for the second rip would match the first rip.. but it doesn't. Can you explain what this difference is?
2) I had expected that the CRCv1 value on the second rip would be well over 200 given that was the value 2 years ago. Is the confidence value capped at 200?
3) With the second rip there are four 'AccurateRip Verified Confidence' entries. The first one matches the AccurateRip CRC so I understand that confidence of 22, but what do the others mean? Do they indicate that this cd doesn't match these other pressings or as it says verified does it mean the rip does also match these other pressings if offsets are applied?
An explanation of the extraction log would be great.
Thanks!
