Problem ripping with dbPowerAmp 14.3 on Macbook Pro?

I have just installed dbPowerAmp 14.3 on my Win7 bootcamp install on my MBP. It's the new model with i7 2.9Ghz and 8Gb ram. I have tried 3 cds so far and every one gives an error due to needing to rerip about 8000 frames on each track when I have set the limit of reripping 100 frames. I have configured my settings as per the setup document, detected C2 errors etc. Should there be so may frames needing reripped? I have never had this issue on my main Wiindows pc that I used to use to rip.

Is this maybe an issue woth 14.3 as I have just started using this version?

    Thanks.

If you have c2 pointers enabled, try disabling.

But I have a test disc that I use to detect that, and it has always worked on my other system?

EDIT: I just tried that and it does rip properly. When I ran the detect C2 errors with my test disc, it said the drive was compatible and enabled it. What is the implications of not using C2 error detection?

It means that c2 is not working correctly on the MAC

Thanks. Is this a known common problem?

Should I just go back to using my Windows pc to get a better rip?

If Accuraterip verifies then the rip is correct.

Thanks for your help with this. I had looked and posted on the Linn forum about this issue but didn't see anything. Any idea why the c2 detection doesn't work on my mac?

It is likely the drive does not support it correctly

Does that not flag up an issue if the detection says it does support it but it actually doesn't?

                    C2 is either:

                    not supported
                    supported well
                    supported badly
drive says is supported, but drive is lying about support

Fro yours I think it is supported badly.

I have since tried Max and XLD as recommended on the Linn forum and both of these ripped successfully with c2 on, so the drive itself must be fine?

yes potentially, if you can try parallels instead of boot camp.

I have tried EAC and the C2 works fine in that. Well, it doesn't give any errors and the cd rips successfully. I will try to install dbPA from within the mac environment in some way. I don't want to buy a parallels license.

The way dbpoweramp rips (whole passes in one go), potentially EAC, MAX or Rip would not report the error (they rip in small blocks, not whole tracks at once), even though it was there (where the drive looses its accurate stream).

I did notice that the c2 detection in dbPA returns as successful almost immediately, whereas in EAC it takes a few mins to do some checking. EAC also reports that if it returns a result immediately then there is probably a problem. Could this be the issue here?

Have there been many issues with brand new macs not being able to use c2 in dbPA?
