loosing control of the ripping process?

It started recently ... It is not a very big deal, but quite weird ...

I select one version of album art, rip the disc, open the file in JRMC, and ... get something else as cover art! Also relevant, even good, but not what I have chosen!

Happens very often now with mainstream classical CDs that I am ripping: Decca, Philips, etc ..

A much worse variation of the same problem happened yesterday to a set of Beethoven Quartets by Quartetto Italiano:
I discovered that on 3 CDs (out of 8) DBPA was CHANGING TRACK DESCRIPTIONS after ripping. Actually substituting track info from a different CD of the same set. This is really bad, as I need to rewrite track info manually, which is a lot of work ...:vmad:

Any advice on how to regain control?

We have heard that JRiver is splitting albums (so not reading ID Tags correctly) for AIFF, check the files in Windows Explorer to see what tags they have (right click >> Edit ID Tags)

Yes, I checked the files with WE: wrong cover art. Also, I am ripping to flac.
It is difficult to imagine that JRMC would go amok and rewrite tags unprompted, but who knows ...

      Any other suggestions?

What audio type are you ripping to?, which windows version do you have.

The wrong album art it is showing, did it appear anywhere in CD Ripper (was it the old art before you replaced it)?

No, I did not see the "surprise" cover art in the ripper before.

However, the wrong track names were from recently ripped CDs. (I am much more concerned about this problem.)

If you have never seen this cover art, then it did not come from our program, some other program might be writing the ID Tags after CD Ripper has finished ripped.

double check that windows media player is not "touching" these files (as it will change the artwork and even other tags).
