can't retrieve tags

Starting this morning dbPoweramp no longer retrieves tags. Touching the metadata button sets off the spinning circle and the program has to be terminated through the task manager. Using v14.3. This was noticed on my desktop but the laptop is acting in an identical manner. 10 hours ago all was well. I tried reinstalling but this did not help. Any suggestions?

Try uncheckng all the providers except freedb, if no go try musicbrainz on its own. Do either of those two on their own retrieve metadata?
