    CD Ripper Not Responding

I'm having a problem with CD Ripper.

    WIN7-64 Pro, I5 processor, 8G Memory.

While ripping a disk if the track is having issues and taking a long time to make any progress I click skip track. At this point CD ripper shows cancelling on the track number and the program freezes or does not respond. If I go into task manager and end task the program still won’t close. If I restart windows, windows will not restart, it shows the shutting down screen and will not shut down I have to do a forced reset. This happens every time I try to skip or cancel a track.

Thanks in Advance for any help

The system + dBpoweramp are waiting for the drive to finish ripping a sector, on some drives the drive can stick on the same sector (if scratched) for a number of minutes.

      Thanks for the quick response.

I have 2 drives - Plexor 810SA and 890SA both respond the same way.

I got talked into ripping my daughters CD collection about 225 CD's it's going to be a long fall !!!!

I have manually ejected the CD and the program still would not close. I tried to skip the track and cancel the track there&*8217;s no difference. No matter what I do other then a reboot I can&*8217;t get the program to close. I was thinking on reloading the program, I don&*8217;t think that will change anything but it&*8217;s worth a shot.

      Any other thoughts?

When there is such a blockage, it is at a very low level, below even the operating system (in CD Rom driver), there is nothing that can be done to stop it. NB not all CD drives are like that, some are very quick even on badly damaged CDs.
