    HDCD flag

    Hi

I selected the HDCD tag under the metadat options but when I go to windows explorer and place the curser over the track name it doesnt show it's an HDCD track?

I did NOT and choose NOT to select the HDCD dsp option. Does this matter?

    Thanks

Yes you need the DSP effect for it to be detected, or perhaps the technical column enabled in CD Ripper.

        Re: HDCD flag

As long as you rip to lossless, I would not use the HDCD plugin. You can always detect HDCD content later, as it is flagged in-signal. (Indeed, that's what HDCD.exe does.) I use a media player which handles HDCD on-the-fly, much like a HDCD-enabled DAC does (that is, it misses the feature that HDCD.exe also misses).
