After Encoding Verify Written Audio

I'm setting up now and in general the guide says exactly what to check or set. I'm simply using all of the settings recommended in Spoon's set up guide. It doesn't say whether to check the "After Encoding Verify Written Audio". Should I check this option?

That's only for FLAC encoding.

I check the box when ripping to flac. It doesn't noticeably slow the process.
