Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
That's a good point porcus. Thank you porcus and garym. I know I bang on abit. Are CDs that error prone or is this me again stressing and making something worse that it is?

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
AccurateRip is better than that. 60 hits? Two would suffice. It would be better than you trying to rip twice, because they would be much closer to independent.Last edited by Porcus; July 07, 2012, 02:24 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
p.s. accuraterip is not really a rating, it is a "confidence" match. So this doesn't mean a confidence result of 150 is a "better" rip than a confidence rip of 50 (or 2 for that matter). A rip is either perfect or it is not. The confidence score simply gives you information on how many other people got exactly the same rip as you. Even ONE OTHER PERSON getting the same rip as you on a different computer, with a different drive, with a different copy of the CD is a pretty amazing confirmation.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
Hi porcus, yes the accurate rip rating is in the Id tag of the track. I just have an urge to double check things :(
I struggle to believe things and always see the worst. I worry that CDs are problem matic and it's just mine. If I had my way I'll have two of everything, but probably be on the street if I did that !Leave a comment:

If you didn't keep logs, then look for the ACCURATERIPRESULT tag. (Provided that was written ... I only know my setup.)Leave a comment:

So there really wasn't an issue with that guys rips ?Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
It is not related to crcv1, crcv2 or pressing offsets, instead it is where the drive suddenly reads with a different offset, even so technically there is no real data error, all that is happening is the data is shifted by a offset.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
Ok spoon, so when someone posted about "bad rips" getting in the database, what do they mean? Was it not reading another crcv1 or crcv2 table ?Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
No, pressing offsets are where the record label makes another batch of CDs for the shop (could be 2 years later after first batch), each batch has an inbuilt pressing offset, it happens on every cd.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
Thank you porcus, that helps explain why the results were less. Was stressing about that. So I'm all good and no need to rerip the CDs?
So the 3 people with the offset result -30, could those be bad rips which was raised in the previous post?
I have since turned logging on, when I started I was a dbpa novice. No need to rerip for those logs?Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
PerfectTUNES is _beta_ software, and shouldn't be expected to have all features yet.
The one with offset -30, you mean? I'd suggest you look in earlier threads you have participated in. Short: they are additional matches to a different pressing, where the difference is that the bitstream is moved 30 samples to the left or right.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
and as fanatical as you are about these things, going forward, I recommend setting dbpa to output full information logs in the settings, and to automatically save those logs in the same directory as the album tracks. Then you'll always have your original logs.Leave a comment:

Re: PerfectTunes changed confidence rating
I don't have my original logs :( bit worried mine were 200 to start with, now changed? How would this have happened and why?
What I meant garym was that I send you my log off all my Beatles mono albums and check against your log from perfectTunes for your mono boxset. Could we ?
So if a result came back as 2, your happy?
Also, why the two different results for crcv1? Could that be "bad rips"?Leave a comment:
