    Audiobook cd ripping to m4b

    Hello folks,

I am using a free version of dbPoweramp 14.2. I downloaded m4a/m4b codec from the website. When I try to rip a cd to audiobook format (m4b), it gives me a message 'Before using this encoder a separate component must be installed from www.nerodigital.com, press Red [?] button on encoder settings page for the details'. When I press this button, a html file detailing about this coded is fired up and that doesn't contain any information that makes sense to this message. Plus, there is no website called as nerodigital.com What I don't know is, if its referring to Nero AAC codec that is available for download here.

Any information in this regard is welcome.

    Many thanks in advance.

You need to download the Nero AAC encoder; it's not actually included in the installer package.

    Here's the URL:
Nero Platinum - Nero is the leading provider of premium software for the multimedia experience. We make burning, streaming, editing more convenient and easier. Start your free trial today!

Once you have downloaded the file (neroAacEnc.exe), it needs to be copied into this folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4b (Audio Book)

Disregard "(x86)" is you're using the 32 bit version of Windows.

Thank you for confirming my understanding. I wonder though what the heck did I download from illustrate website as aac encoder?
