All, I am new and probably low on knowledge in this area, but can anyone explain, "simply", how I rip a cd into FLAC without the gaps being inserted between the tracks on a continuous mix CD. I have added the DSP effect "remove gaps" but still have achieved what I want. All guidance is much appreciated

Re: Ripping a mix cd in FLAC with no gaps
Said another way ... the gaps are inserted by your player. Sadly the DLNA specification specifies that gaps MUST be inserted. They want to treat all music as a "song" no matter that it might be continuous like in most classical and live music.Comment

Re: Ripping a mix cd in FLAC with no gaps
Thankyou both for your reply, following both your comments I tried playing my "ripped" albums in FLAC through Foobar2000 and achieved continuous playback with "no gaps" so this did prove your theory that it is indeed the player. I have now contacted Cambridge Audio who have informed me that the Stream Magic 6 (which is my network streamer) will have a software upgrade in the coming weeks which will then anable gapless / seamless play ! Hope that helps any others with this frustrating scenarioComment
