    Router crashing?!?!

Much to my surprise, it seems that the ripper causes my Cisco router to crash. Happens frequently after I fix metadata and begin the ripping itself ...

Any idea what may be going on here? Some nonstandard packets of data is sent to/received from the net?

A PC should not be able to crash a working router even if it tried...

Data is just standard TCP HTTP, or HTTPS.

Well, I agree with the theory ...

But it does crash repeatedly. Any ideas what may be going on there?

The router has been stable in all other circumstances ... Running BDPA as part of Sonata demo on WXP ...

Perhaps your router is faulty, or there is a new firmware for it.

Basically any program should be able to request any data it like from any server, it is the Client <> Server which should safeguard any bad requests, not the router, which is just passing bytes along.

We would not have a clue where to look for this, if there is even an issue...(never once in 40 million installs of dBpoweramp have we heard of the router crashing on metadata fetch).

Thanks, Spoon. It is useful to know that this has not happened before.

            SOLVED!

Faulty network card in the PC was to blame. Changed the card, no problem now.
