Any use of the <CRC> tag in FLAC files (or other formats with checksum)?

I just noticed that a few rips I did after a reinstall, had the CRC tag. Is this good for anything in this format?

I would not use it for FLAC as flac has its own.

Still assuming FLAC: That goes for <LENGTH> as well?
