Trial version has to run as admin, right?

Just installed the current version (14.2) and the DSP Effects Release 7 on a Win XP SP3 system, for a trial.

It runs fine in the admin account, which is what it was installed as, but when I try to run it in my everyday user account, it starts but can't identify the CD ROM drive, won't retrieve meta data, etc.

Am I correct that the trial version has to run as admin, but when I purchase and register the full version it will be okay running in my normal user account?

Correct, although your limited account might have a policy set to stop programs from accessing the CD drive directly.

Thanks for the reply. Would I be able to edit the XP account to permit direct CD drive access using admin tools like gpedit.msc?

Can't make an XP user account access the CD drive directly to use dbpoweramp; seems to be admin only. (Win XP Pro SP3)
