A couple newbie questions...

I did some searching but I'm new to this and some of it is over my head.

1. How do I know if my version is up to date? I've read some people not getting full use of the paid version because they installed it over the trial. I've been in the hospital for a while and honestly can't remember if I did this or if I just jumped right in to the paid version
2. Which would be a better drive to rip with (both are external) a Matshushi (sp) dvd-r uj-8a8 (from a macbook pro 2011) or a pioneer BD-r 206
3. They both have offsets, the mac drive is 102, the other is 684 I think, so does that mean I should check the lead in/out box?
4. in the set up box under secure options, 1 is accurate rip, 2 is 2nd pass speed and it's greyed out at 6x. It used to say maximum, but I can't figure out how to get it back to maximum.
5. I haven't been able to listen to anything I've ripped yet. But I listen to a lot of Dj mixes that have track seperations, but no audible gaps, it's a continuous mix. Is DBP putting 2 second gaps in if they aren't natively their?
6. and lastly is there a way to have it generate a cue sheet to store in the file?


Please bear with me, I've been having seizures and my brain is very foggy so someoen being patient and putting my answers in one place would be greatly appreciated. I don't mean to be an annoying newbie, but it took me a week to rememeber my own name so I'm doing pretty good.

Thank you. So when should the lean in lead out box be checked? And the bit depth option under DSP, with regular cd's (not sacd, or high def or something) does setting that to 24 do anything?

And lastly, part of the reason I'm re-ripping everything is my hard drive failed, so now I'm re-ripping everything into lossless flac instead of mp3. I was reading about that back up option and it says that you only have to pay for it if you need to use it, but I can't find anywhere how much it would be if we needed to use it? Cuz I don't rip to want to aver do this again.

Again, sorry If my words aren't making sense. English is myu first lianguage, born and raised in America but my brain is not right yet.

Incidentally, I did have reference 14.2 I just couldn't figure out how to do what you said so thank you for your help and not making fon of me.


And sorry, one more question. I've read many of the links about certain drives and the c2 errors, to use or not to use and I can't wrap my head around it. So I'm asking a favor of someone who knows. I'm using the Matshita dvd-r UJ-8a8 that came from my 2011 macbook pro. I use it as an external drive. Does it do the c2 well enough that I should be checking that box? and since i'm using it externally via usb cable should I check the one underneath it that says "8kb c2 usb or firewire" or something to that effect.


THank you again for your help. I've never seen such good product support for any type of product as I have seen here for DBpoweramp. I like the program too, much easier to use in my opinion than the mac option of XLD.

One final edit: WHen I rip all my dj mixes it each track has it's original writer listed, but the cd has the person who mixed them all tgether. What is happening is it's being put into my rip folder as 12 seperate folders with one song each instead of one folder with 12 songs. I would like to keep the info on each song for reference but I want it to collect into the album artist folder. I've messed around with the metadata labeling etc and all I've done is screw things up worse so I just set it back to default. Can I do what I'm trying to do or do I just have to go back afterwards and move everything into the correct folder?

You can only check the lead in and out box if the drive can read into lead in and out, not many can (Plextors, etc).

You need to check the compilation button to keep multi artist albums in the same folder.
