Audio CD not recognized by dBpoweramp CD Ripper

    I'm puzzled! The problem:

I've put an AudioCD (Jan Akkerman Acoustic) in my external CD/DVD writer reader (Plextor PX-L890UE), which is connected to my notebook by using an USB cable. The offset is set at +6 which is the required offset as listed for this Plextor model.

The CD is perfectly recognized by both Windows 7 and Windows Media Player. In Windows Media Player, all tracks are listed by title and I'm able to listen to the tracks using Windows Media Player.

    - dBpoweramp CD Ripper, however, does not show any tracks. It just reports: <Insert Audio CD>.

    - When I put the same Audio CD in the built-in CD/DVD driver of my notebook, all tracks are listed in dBpoweramp CD Ripper, perfectly

I've tried and checked everything to solve the problem, to no avail.

Is there someone on the forum who can give me a clue? I want to use exclusively the Plextor for ripping my Audio CD's.

    Looking forward to your reply,

    Judith

Make sure you are on R14.2, there was a detection bug in earlier R14 releases.

If you do not have the option checked 'Prevent Auto Run' then inserting the CD, look at Windows File Explorer and the CD drive should say 'Audio CD', if it does not then the drive is not physically recognizing the disc, there is nothing any software can do to make it so.
