    Optimum size for album art

I've just started ripping my CD collection to FLAC, currently using a Squeezebox but expect one day to use an Ipad or tablet as a remote. What is the best size for artwork to ensure I can display a nice full size image on an ipad or tablet? I assume 768 x 768 is the best possible resolution for album cover on an ipad so would that make 750 x 750 a good choice? Also, if I try to scan my own artwork I never get a perfectly square image. Is this something to be concerned about? Just want to get things right so don't have to do it all over again. Thanks.

I use ipeng or squeezepad on ipad and I try for 1000x1000 when available, but find that 500x500 shows up very nicely on my ipad.
