CD Ripper not picking up album info

One of the factors in my deciding to purchase dbPoweramp was the promise of a lot of album info being picked up automatically.

Have just downloaded the current version (R.14) (Oct 2011) but no matter which CD I put in, nothing: nor album cover art, no album titles - no nuttin!!

Yes, am definitely connected to the internet. Have clicked the meta button, have clicked Refresh, have clicked the dropdown on the Meta button and tried to turn on either dbfree or each of the other album db sources, the PertfectMeta (intelligent lookup) is ticked, have clicked Review Metadata - everything I could think of.:cry:

Any suggestions or is this a fault with the latest version (did see some threads that suggested there was a problem here with the latest version but was not sure if they were talking about the same thing I am talking about here.

With R14 you need the Reference version to get metadata from AMG / GD3, but the other ones are always available, it sounds like your security software is blocking dbpoweramp from accessing the internet.

I do in fact have CD Ripper Reference R14.

But you were right: I temporarily disabled my firewall, and immediately discs that produced no album info are now correctly picking up the album name, track titles and length, album art etc.

It seems I need to go back to my Internet Security program supplier and ask how to get my security prog to allow dbpoweramp to access the internet.
