How to stop CDRipper Multi-disc album tagging

How do I get CDRipper to stop appending "Disc *" to the end of the album tag when ripping multiple CD sets? And how can I remove the appendage from existing files so Asset doesn't catalog them that way? I recently switched o CDRiper after using Exact Audio Copy for years; productivity is better and tagging more robot with less effort. But this tag appendage has me really annoyed and ready to switch back quickly.

Click the Options button, then select "Options" for the Meta Data & ID Tag section. Under PerfectMeta Options, there is a "Multi-CD Add Disc to Album" parameter where you can select how/if you want the disc number added (for multi-disc sets). Set it to "never." Note that a few albums may have this embedded in their own metadata, in which case you would need to remove it manually in the Album title window before you start ripping.

There is an ID Tag Processing utility with dBpoweramp, but honestly, it's pretty crude. If you have a lot of these albums with extraneous disc-numbering in their titles, it's probably easiest to use something like mp3tag to batch process them.

I figured it out. Blank out the disk number, either before ripping or afterwards with a tag editor.

Well, that certainly works. But you could simply change the setting that puts it there in the first place......then you won't have to remember to manually edit that field all the time.

Thanks BrodyBoy. Fixed in the Options, and I typically delete the info in the Disc box too.

There's a handy solution for that, too! Also in Options, you can check/uncheck which tags you want included. If you set the program to exclude the disc tag, you can ignore whatever's in that box....it won't be included anyway.

I prefer not to have a discnumber tag at all, especially for single-disc albums, so I set dBp to omit that tag entirely. (Same with a lot of other tags I don't want.)
